We won’t be able to find a home for this redistribution because they are going to be for the homeless.
They sleep in the park, under/on footbridges, sometimes at 24-hour Mc Donald’s. They need to move from places to places every week, as our govt keeps clearing and keeps everywhere clear from tainting the image of being one of the top cities in the world. To be able to keep their precious belongings and move weekly, bags, shopping trolley and luggage are best to be their year-round wardrobes and cabinets.
Last Saturday, Mar 21, we proudly redistributed a luggage and a shopping trolley for Mr Chan and Mr Wong, the homeless in the Western district. Thanks to the donors of DB & TC!
Fred took some pictures of the condition of some of the homeless in HK about a year ago. Situations are more or less the same except one of the homeless he met has been allotted a public housing unit in Kowloon City (They exchanged contacts and Xmas cards!).
Not all the homeless are jobless. One of the homeless Fred talked to offered Fred a cake. He told Fred that he worked in a bakery during the day n slept under the footbridge during the night.
For some reasons, some people became homeless, due to various personal life experiences. DB Mothers & Friends is not here to judge, but just to see the opportunity to help our community.
If you have any spare ones, not minding if it’s just only one or two pieces, who knows? We might just need that one or two to be able to hit the required numbers of stamps to redeem!
Also, it doesn’t matter if there is no spare stamps for us. Any spare bags or luggage is welcome too. Kindly drop them all off during our donation drop-off session at La Costa Playground from 10-11am in DB this Saturday, Mar 28.
*At the moment, we also have 4 urgent cases of FRIDGE, WASHING MACHINE, SINGLE BED needed for various refugees referred by International Social Service (ISS), and 2 other cases that needs fridges among the single moms and low income families in the Eastern district on HK Island.
*This Saturday, Mar 28, we are going to have our 80th Charity Saturday of door-to-door donation collection in DB & TC, and donation drop-off session at La Costa Playground in DB from 10-11am.
For any handful volume of donations like clothes and toys etc, they can be dropped off at our next drop-off sessions.
For larger donation items or urgent collection required, our 80th Charity Saturday door-to-door donation collection on Mar 28 is now open for reservation.
